Job description:   

Reporting to the Vice President-Administration, the responsibilities of the HR Advisor include coordination, assistance, an advisory role and data searches in order to support the VP of Administration with all HR records and to promote a quality HR offering to employees with a view to fostering optimum internal efficiency as well as better organizational performance for the Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec). The HRA supports the VP Administration in the management, implementation and coordination of projects related to human resources as well as in some administrative projects.  The HRA is the first point of contact for meeting employees and providing them with information regarding their file; advising managers regarding employee management; contacting different service providers and ensuring collaboration from various internal resources related to projects under his/her responsibility.

 

The main responsibilities related to the position are as follows:

Ensuring that the various labor laws and Human Resource Management (HRM) policies are respected throughout INS Québec services. Planning, developing, coordinating and ensuring the application of HRM policies and programs according to the guidelines established by the Management Committee. Providing and managing contracts for salaried employees and contractors. Ensuring that governance and HRM policies are reviewed. Managing employees’ leave and vacations in collaboration with the administrative team. Participating in the review of job classifications, job descriptions and salary scales, as well as measures and systems for assessing skill levels. Developing plans regarding manpower requirements in collaboration with management.  Coordinating all staffing processes, assisting and advising managers in the selection process and collaborating with the VP Administration to finalize hires. Welcoming new employees and participating in induction. Overseeing the communication and application of occupational health and safety standards and ensuring liaison with the CNESST. Contributing to the development of employee Learning Paths, in line with the strategic development of INS Québec. Participating in the establishment, coordination and monitoring of the mobilization plan and the resulting activities.

 

Requirements:            

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, industrial relations or a related field. A combination of training and relevant experience may be considered. Minimum three (3) years’ experience, including two (2) years in a similar position, preferably in a high-performance sports environment. CRHA or CRIA affiliation an asset. Very good knowledge of laws and standards relating to Human Resource Management. Knowledge of the high-performance sports sphere and of sports systems in Québec and Canada an asset. Very high level of competence in project development and implementation. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Fluent in French (oral and written) and a functional level of English.


Duration: Permanent position

Location: Montreal – Olympic Park

Working hours: 35-hour work week

Start date: March 2018

Salary: An annual salary starting at $ 42 500 and a benefit program will be offered to the successful candidate based on his experience and skills.
