Director – Business partnership development and fundraising

Job description:

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director – Business partnership development and fundraising should proactively identify quality business partners, including individuals, corporations and charitable organizations and oversee the research, analysis and documentation of opportunities and the creation of documentation on these prospective partnerships. He should seek and contact potential donors and reach an agreement with them. He is responsible of developing and implementing strategies, loyalty programs and solicitation programs tailored to specific business partners and potential donors and prepare the appropriate solicitation documents. He will have to monitor the use of best commercial practices in the development of business partnerships and fundraising

The Director – Business partnership development and fundraising must coordinate all aspects of events with support from the Executive assistant and Ensure that budgets allocated for the achievement of financial objectives are respected. He will have to work closely with the communications department to develop the Institut’s brand image.

He will supervise and monitor the activities of the fundraising committee of the board of directors, and enthusiastically implement the Autonomous funding game plan



Bachelor Degree in a relevant field. Proven record of success in developing and implementing projects to raise funds and solicit donations and of success in organizing activities related to business, sport and fundraising, or with charities and non-profit organizations. Proven record of success in structuring powerful proposals for business partnerships. Experience in managing databases and sales funnels. At least 8years of experience in a relevant role. Certification in charity management is an asset.


Skills and capabilities

Good relationship skills when working with business partners and donors, and good customer service skills. Proven ability to establish and implement business partnership projects and meet fundraising targets. Proven ability to canvas prospective business partners. Knowledge of the business landscape in Quebec and Canada and understanding of the issues faced by these businesses and the position of the Institut as the solution to those issues

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem solving ability: sound judgment and discretion. Independence, diligence and versatility. Integrity, tact and diplomacy. Motivated by achieving results. Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of high-performance sport in Quebec and Canada is an asset.

Duration:  12 months contract – renewable

Location: Montreal – Olympic Park

Start date: May 2018

Salary:  The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefit package, depending on skills and experience.
