Title: Intern, Coordinator – RBC Training Ground

 

Description:

RBC Training Ground is an athlete screening and development program created by RBC, CBC/Radio-Canada, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), the Canadian Olympic Foundation and the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute (COPSI). The purpose of the program is to discover future Olympic medal hopefuls and provide them with access to funding for high-performance sport. The intern will support the Advisor, Programs and Events, in coordinating RBC Training Ground and related tasks.

 

Tasks:

–         Act as a resource before and during the event;

–         Help with the organization and logistics of regional qualifying events;

–         Help manage installations manage equipment;

–         Work together to find sponsors to cater the events;

–         Coordinate weekly or monthly planning meetings, as needed, with regional partners;

–         In collaboration with technical manager, recruit and coordinate provincial sports organization staff as well as event volunteers and assign volunteers roles and responsibilities related to the evaluation stations;

–         Attend all regional qualifying events and head up registration;

–         Help feed the COPSI’s, and provincial and national sports organizations’ communications content (emails, social media, etc.);

–         Update documentation for the event and ensure it is completed;

–         Help the Advisor, Programs and Events, coordinate the promotion of regional qualifying events and support trainers and staff who implement it;

–         Disseminate event results to regional partners;

–         Assist regional COPSI coordinators in preparing the post-event survey.

 

Requirements:

–         A student in a field that is relevant to the internship;

–         Familiarization with high-performance athletics;

–         Very good knowledge of French and English, both written and spoken.

–         Availability the following dates to attend the events:

March 23, 2019 – Gatineau regional qualification
March 30, 2019 – Mauricie regional qualification
April 27, 2019 – Laurentians regional qualification
May 4, 2019 – Montérégie regional qualification
May 18, 2019 – Sherbrooke regional qualification
May 25, 2019 – Quebec City regional qualification


Duration: January 7 to May 31, 2019

Work schedule: to be determined with the intern

Compensation: unpaid internship; expenses incurred as part of the internship are covered by INS Québec
