Job description:       

The Supervisor, Performance Services, holds an important role within the organization through their position with sports partners and the performance services coordination responsibilities that are offered to them.  Reporting to the VPPS, the incumbent is responsible for providing the supervision, coordination and coaching necessary to support high-quality service delivery (sports medicine, sports science, personal) to athletes, training groups and partners, including sports federations and regional multi-sport training centres.

With regard to the management of the Institut’s services, the Supervisor, Performance Services, works closely with the VPPS, other team members and other directors to ensure that their sector’s goals are met and that the Institut’s mission is carried out. Furthermore, they must implement policies and procedures, as well as provide high-quality services to the sports or partners for which they are responsible. They assist in preparing the team’s action plan and annual budget, and provide regular oversight.

 

The main responsibilities related to the position are as follows:

Participate in strategic planning exercises and help implement it with a view to achieving common and business sector objectives. Help seize business opportunities and assist in reviewing and assessing general services. Draft various business reports and assist in preparing the annual report. Coordinate the action plan and oversee the working team under their responsibility. Collaborate on managing activities, programs and special projects. Manage the process to develop and monitor agreements with clients and partners. Liaise with certain INS Québec partner sports. Supervise and manage certain provincial athlete support programs and single- and multi-sport training centres. Help plan and manage human, financial and material resources needed for their sector to operate efficiently.

 

Requirements:  

Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, sports administration, or a related field, and/or a combination of relevant training and experience. At least ten (10) years of experience in a relevant field, with stakeholder or personnel management, ideally in a high-performance sports environment. Thorough knowledge of the high-performance sports sphere and of sports systems in Québec and Canada. Very good knowledge of French and English, both written and spoken. Very good knowledge of various office automation tools (Microsoft Office Suite). Good knowledge of the highest levels of training for Canadian coaches (certified and advanced certified). Good work team coaching and coordination skills. Very good proficiency in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs and services. Good knowledge of high-performance sports coaching. Good knowledge of sports science and the sports-medicine field. Good knowledge of team and fiscal management. Availability on weekends and flexible schedule.


Duration: Permanent position

Workplace: Montréal – Olympic Park

Hours of work: 35 hours per week

Start date: October 2018

Salary: Annual salary starting at $62,410 and a benefits program will be offered to the selected candidate.
