More information on the process and the program:

Once the cohort of athletes will be selected for the program, we will analyze your file and take the time to meet with you. Montréal Relève will then put you in touch with your host organization. You will be paired with a mentor who will show you his professional reality in the job market.
The job shadow schedule will be adapted to your sport schedule: 1 day per week, 1 day per month, 1 full week or a more personalized schedule.
You will have 6 months to complete your job shadowing. You’re in control of your schedule! But you must also be ready to invest your time and respect the schedule once determined!

Relève Active: the new support program for athletes

In order to give athletes considering their career transition the tools they need, the organization Montréal Relève and the Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) have created the Relève Active internship and mentoring program. This program offers immersive internships of approximately 40 hours to give athletes the chance to see whether their choice of career or field of study is the right one.

Developed to meet athletes’ need for assistance in entering the job market, Relève Active seeks to provide support at a time when they have important decisions to make regarding their personal and professional lives.

Relève Active targets athletes active on the national or international scene when it is the right time for them to take stock and perhaps turn the page and define the next phase of their professional life. To help athletes identify a career after sports, Relève Active assists them in finding a first experience in the professional world, in line with their interests and field of study. This program is part of INS Québec’s commitment to supporting athletes and encouraging them to start thinking about this issue, which is all too often postponed or left until after retirement.
