Career opportunity – Developer, Trampoline Load Quantification Tool


The candidate will be in charge of developing a computer program that concatenates trampoline performance metrics in order to provide rapid feedback from the field, routine optimization, and longitudinal monitoring of performance and loading phase. The incumbent will organize force transducer recorded metrics, such as flight time and horizontal displacement, that quantify the amplitude of the athlete’s movements on the web. The candidate will also have to develop variables to quantify the success of some acrobatic sequences. The intern will have the opportunity to work with the next generation of athletes from the high-performance Trampoline Canada (Gymnastics Canada) training group. They will be supervised by a sports biomechanist and other members of the IST staff, as well as by specialists from the Trampoline Canada training group.

  • Design an intuitive process for visualizing results for feedback to coaches



  • Education (B. Sc. and/or M. Sc or Ph. D) in the fields of kinesiology, biomechanics, health sciences, information technology, engineering
  • Programming and data processing skills (Matlab, R or equivalent)
  • Experience with a business tool (Excel, Qlik Sense, Hexfit or other)
  • Ability to design and manage databases
  • Basic statistical knowledge
  • Work experience, an asset
  • Knowledge of high-performance sport and biomechanics, an asset

Duration: 16 to 24 weeks

Hours of work: Full time or part time

Hourly rate: Depending on experience
