PROGRAMME DE FORMATION POUR L’INTERVENTION ET L’INNOVATION EN PRÉPARATION PHYSIQUE (FIIPP)

The purpose of the FIIPP program is to give strength and conditioning practitioners the tools to perform the specific work required for high-performance sports. Using a teaching and assessment approach that focuses on problem resolution and acquiring hands-on experience, the program’s activities specifically support the development of intervention and innovation skills of strength and conditioning coaches.

 

Program summary

  • Four training themes: Planning, Assessment, Injury prevention and working with injured athletes, Strength and conditioning activities specific to a variety of sports
  • Content developed in accordance with the needs expressed by the strength and conditioning practitioners of Quebec
  • 120 hours of class time divided into training blocks (Thursday, Friday and Saturday)<
  • 100 hours on a work placement
  • Learning assessment during the course and at the end of the program

Minimum admission criterion

Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology (or equivalent) and two years of strength and conditioning experience

Curriculum Vitae
A covering letter that includes: the reasons why you wish to be admitted to the program, and details on the clients to whom you are currently providing strength and conditioning services. If you are currently training athletes identified as “Excellence, Élite or Relève” by the Government of Quebec, indicate their level of competition, sport and any other details you deem relevant.
Letter of recommendation: Ask your main employer or someone in charge at your affiliated regional multi-sport training centre (RMTC) to support your candidacy, and to highlight any information that might allow us to prioritize your candidacy.

Additional information

  • Location of the courses: INS Québec
  • Location of work placements: the location of the work placements will be assigned to trainees based on the nature of their individual projects. The work placements cannot be completed in the candidate’s place of employment. However, work placement locations and tutors identified by the candidate will be accepted if this allows them to better attain their objectives
  • 30 development credits from the Fédération des Kinésiologues du Québec
  • Cost: $3,000 including taxes. Tax credits for tuition fees
  • Number of spots limited to 20 people
