Development, marketing & communications intern (Summer 2026)

An ideal internship for a student or recent graduate looking to develop their skills in communication, marketing, and event coordination within a dynamic environment centered around elite sports!!

By focusing on science, innovation, and technology, the Institut national du sport du Québec embodies the “Genius Behind Performance” by offering cutting-edge solutions driven by a team of experts and partners to push the limits of each of our athletes. The Institute operates throughout Quebec through its network of eight regional multisport training centers, 18 single-sport training centers, and its Olympic Park Complex, which hosts ten high-performance training groups.

The Institut is supported by the Ministry of Education, Sport Canada, Own the Podium, the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Canadian Olympic Foundation, the Canadian Paralympic Committee, and the Coaching Association of Canada, as well as private-sector partners such as Sports Experts and Mondo. INS Québec and its network support more than 550 high-performance athletes (including Olympic-level athletes)—primarily members of Canadian national teams—nearly 2,000 next-generation athletes, and some 900 coaches.

Job Description

The development, marketing, and communications intern will assist the team in carrying out INS Québec’s communications, marketing, and corporate development activities. Depending on the projects, the intern will work under the supervision of the two current advisors and contribute to content creation, event support, partner coordination, and various operational tasks essential to the organization’s outreach and the success of its fundraising initiatives. The role emphasizes learning, execution, and logistical support within a dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities (5 areas)

Communications and Content Support (35%)

  • Content writing (newsletters, short articles, social media posts);
  • Support for creating visuals in Canva or internal tools;
  • Publishing content on internal/external platforms;
  • Monitoring content performance (engagement, reach).

 

Marketing Support (25%)

  • Updating marketing lists and databases;
  • Preparing documents, service offerings, presentations, and promotional materials;
  • Logistical support for ongoing campaigns or projects;
  • Market research or best-practice benchmarks.

 

Event and Partner Support (25%)

  • Assist with the coordination of corporate events (logistics, follow-ups, production);
  • Support the preparation of partner deliverables (visuals, approvals, documents);
  • Provide reception or operational support during events or visits.

 

Administrative tasks and general support (10 %)

    • Filing, organizing materials, updating internal tools;
    • Ad hoc support for follow-ups with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

 

Special projects and ad hoc initiatives (5%)

  • Participation in ad hoc projects based on department priorities;
  • Simple recommendations to improve processes or tools.
