Governance

Governance establishes the responsibilities of the various components of an organization while defining and framing their inter-relationships. To ensure sustainable and effective practices as it operates and grows, the Institut national du sport du Québec has adopted a governance structure overseen by its Board of Directors and focusing on its members as its primary concern.

Members

The members of INS Québec fall into six categories:

  • Athletes supported by the Équipe Québec program
  • Coaches in the Équipe Québec program
  • National and provincial sports organizations that have a service agreement with INS Québec
  • Associate members
  • Honorary members
  • Members of the INS Québec Board of Directors

Board of Directors

INS Québec is led by a Board of Directors made up of eleven people who have a marked interest in the development of high-performance sport and whose experience and expertise are both diverse and complementary.

The Board of Directors of INS Québec holds decision-making power over the organization’s major actions and strategies. Generally speaking, the Board of Directors is responsible for contributing to the development of strategic plans and action plans and adopting them; guiding and overseeing the organization’s operations; adopting effective, efficient and transparent governance policies and procedures; and following up on its decisions and being accountable for the results.

Board Committees

The Board of Directors can count on the work of various standing, working and ad hoc committees. These committees are
