By focusing on science, innovation and technology, INS Québec represents the “ingenuity behind the performance” by offering cutting-edge solutions powered by experts and partners with the common goal of enabling athletes training in Québec to constantly improve in order to excel on the international stage. INS Québec and its network support more than 550 high-performance athletes—mainly members of Canadian teams—and nearly 2,000 next-generation athletes and some 900 coaches supervising them. INS Québec provides scientific, medical and professional services. As a member of the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network and the Réseau Francophone Olympique de Recherche en Médecine du Sport, INS Québec is active across Québec thanks to its network of 8 regional multi-sports training centres, 22 single-sport training centres and its Olympic Park Complex, which is home to 10 high-performance training groups.

INS Québec receives support from the Ministère de l’Éducation, Sport Canada, Own the Podium, the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Canadian Olympic Foundation, the Canadian Paralympic Committee and the Coaching Association of Canada, in addition to private partners, such as Sports Experts and Mondo.

 

Director, Development and Marketing

 

Immediate supervisor: President and CEO

 

Job summary:

Reporting to the President and CEO, the incumbent plans, organizes, and supervises INS Québec’s development and marketing activities. The main mandate of the incumbent is to design and implement strategies to promote the growth of the organization’s independent revenue, whether through the marketing of its services and programs or the deployment of funding initiatives. The incumbent promotes products and activities by applying modern marketing principles and ensuring the consistency of the organization’s brand image. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the organization’s communications.

As a member of the management committee, the incumbent participates in strategic planning, budgeting, and achieving the organization’s objectives, while reporting on the projects under their responsibility.

 

More specifically, the duties and responsibilities are:

1. Development and marketing (70%)

 

a) Planning and development

  •  Design and implement development strategies aimed at growing INS Québec’s independent revenue.
  • Develop and market products, programs, and services.
  • Design fundraising initiatives (sponsorships, partnerships, corporate activities, philanthropic initiatives).
  • Contribute to the development of marketing and positioning strategies for INS Québec within the sports and business communities.
  • Identify business and partnership opportunities in support of corporate objectives.
  • Propose and develop new avenues of funding (strategic agreements, philanthropy, etc.).
  • Identify and implement innovative initiatives to diversify the organization’s independent sources of revenue.
  • Provide advice on the development and marketing of INS Québec’s various services.

 

b) Implementation

  • Plan and deploy marketing and development plans.
  • Promote products, programs, and activities.
  • Supervise the production of marketing and communication tools.
  • Lead the organization of corporate fundraising and outreach events and activities.
  • Identify and achieve annual independent revenue targets determined in collaboration with management.
  • Develop and maintain high-level relationships with strategic partners, businesses, and leaders in the business community.

 

c) Evaluation

  • Define performance indicators related to development and marketing activities.
  • Monitor, compile, and analyze the results of actions taken, report monthly to management, and propose adjustments.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of digital platforms and propose adjustments.

 

2. Communications (20%)
  • Plan and supervise the organization’s communications.
  • Ensure brand consistency and compliance with the graphic charter.
  • Oversee the drafting of communications (press releases, speeches, corporate documents, newsletters, web).
  • Oversee the management and content of the website and social networks.
  • Oversee press relations and advise management in preparation for public appearances.
  • Support internal communications initiatives and contribute to the employer brand.
  • Ensure the institutional visibility of INS Québec within the sports and business communities.
  • Represent INS Québec at corporate or sporting events.

 

3. Resource management (human, financial, material) (10%)
  • Supervise and evaluate department staff, contractors, and interns.
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and professional development of team members.
  • Establish and manage the department budget and related projects.
  • Follow up on agreements with suppliers and partners necessary for the completion of activities.

 

Required profile:
  • Proven experience in business development, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, or philanthropic funding
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in development, marketing, or fundraising
  • Master’s degree in marketing, business development, or a related field is an asset
  • Experience in personnel and team management
  • Experience in budget management and in dealing with suppliers and partners
  • Proven skills in strategic analysis, partnership development, and communication
  • Knowledge of the Québec and Canadian sports system is an asset
  • Availability in the evenings and on weekends, flexible schedule

 

Technical skills:
  • Proficiency in presentation tools and ability to write a variety of content (corporate, promotional, digital)
  • Knowledge or proficiency in CRM/partner management tools (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot, or equivalent) is an asset
  • Excellent command of French (spoken and written)
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Proficiency in office software (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Good knowledge of web and social media platforms, including performance measurement tools

Duration:              Permanent position

Work location:   Montréal – Olympic Park + hybrid telework

Working hours: Full-time (35 hours), weekday daytime schedule

Start date:            October 2025

Salary:                   Salary range between $82,000 and $133,000, depending on experience and training
