Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Administration, the Head of Human Resources plays a key role in implementing the strategic plan of INS Quebec. He or she contributes to the development of an organizational culture focused on equity, well-being, engagement, a sense of belonging, and staff pride.

In the context of continuous improvement typical of a nonprofit organization, where resource optimization is essential, the incumbent works at the operational, transactional, and strategic levels. They collaborate closely with the Institut’s various departments by providing high-quality consulting services and ensuring a consistent and engaging employee experience.

The head of Human Resources will be responsible for supporting initiatives related to compensation, employer branding, talent acquisition and retention, employee engagement, training, performance evaluation, talent development, and internal communications. Ensuring compliance with government laws and monitoring best practices in culture and talent, he or she will implement all human resources management processes, policies, and tools.

He or she will supervise the HR Coordinator and help develop the organization’s HR budget and projections. As the person in charge of INS Quebec’s entire recruitment process, he or she will also be responsible for continuously reviewing and updating job classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales. He or she will be required to draft various reports (Board of Directors, accountability reports, etc.) as needed.

He or she will also help uphold our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as to upholding standards of integrity in sport, including by updating and developing the skills of the Institut’s employees.

Profile, requirements, and desired skills:

We are looking for someone with integrity and excellent interpersonal skills, who is dynamic, self-motivated, and demonstrates good judgment and attention to detail. In addition, skills such as effective time and priority management, a collaborative team spirit, and the ability to adapt will be essential in this role.

The candidate should preferably hold a CHRP or CIRC professional certification and a bachelor’s degree in human resources or industrial relations. He or she must have at least 10 years of professional experience in a generalist human resources role, including 3 to 5 years in a managerial position.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of labor laws, including those related to pay equity, as well as current trends in human resources. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in various office software tools (Microsoft Office) are required. Functional English language proficiency is required for this position. Knowledge of the high-performance sports environment and the Quebec and Canadian sports systems is an asset.
