About the Institut national du sport du Québec

The Institut operates throughout Quebec through its network of eight regional multisport training centers, 18 single-sport training centers, and its Olympic Park Complex, which hosts ten elite training groups.

The Institut is supported by the Ministry of Education, Sport Canada, Own the Podium, the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Canadian Olympic Foundation, the Canadian Paralympic Committee, and the Coaching Association of Canada, as well as private-sector partners such as Sports Experts and Mondo. INS Quebec and its network support more than 550 elite athletes (including Olympic-level athletes)—primarily members of Canadian national teams—nearly 2,000 athletes from the next generation, and some 900 coaches.

Immediate Supervisor: Chief Dietitian

 

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Chief Dietitian, the Sports Dietitian at the Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) provides support to targeted athletes and national and provincial sport organizations in the area of sports nutrition. The primary responsibility is to plan, consult, and implement nutrition support strategies by delivering sports nutrition services to athletes within training groups, in collaboration with coaching staff and Integrated Support Team (IST) members.

The successful candidate will apply their expertise in nutrition and sport science to deliver world-class nutrition services to high-performance athletes in both training and competition environments. They will also contribute to the development of their sector and discipline through active participation within the nutrition team, engagement in professional development initiatives related to their field and the organization, and contributions to departmental initiatives and organizational objectives.

Candidate profile & requirements

We are looking for a dynamic, autonomous individual who demonstrates sound judgment, rigor, and empathy:

  • Member of the Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ)
  • Master’s degree (completed or in progress) in sports nutrition or a related field, or International Olympic Committee Diploma in Sports Nutrition
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, ideally in a sport environment (including experience at provincial, national, or international competitions)

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to set realistic objectives for athletes and within a team context, and to appropriately prioritize them. They must also show leadership within their discipline and within an Integrated Support Team environment. The role requires flexibility and the ability to respond to constantly evolving priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English are required, along with proficiency in standard office tools (MS365 environment).
