Sport Physiotherapist

Immediate supervisor: Chief Physiotherapist

Job description

Under the supervision of the chief physiotherapist, the physiotherapist works closely with various professionals providing medical support services for high-performance sports. He/she provides sports therapy services to training groups and targeted athletes, alongside members of the integrated support team (IST) to optimize performance.

The main responsibilities related to the position
  • Provide physiotherapy services to athletes on site or on the road.
  • Accompany teams during competitions.
  • Participate in integrated support team (IST) meetings.
  • Provide coaches with the results of various analyses and recommendations related to evaluations.
  • Participate in the athlete evaluation program.
  • Participate in communications related to your department.
  • Maintain harmonious and productive relationships with partners.
Desired profile
  • Master’s degree in physical therapy.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with athletes.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec (Quebec Professional Order of Physical Therapy).
  • Sports First Responder certification.
  • A degree in sports physiotherapy and FCAMPT certification are major assets, but applications from physiotherapists who are in the process of obtaining these qualifications will also be considered.
  • The candidate must be a member of Sport Science Canada or be able to become one upon hiring and be prepared to obtain high performance certification.
  • Weekday daytime work schedule. Availability in the evenings and on weekends (occasionally).
  • Be flexible to travel as required by the sport.
  • Excellent knowledge of the medical-sports field and sports science.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
  • Good knowledge of the high-performance sports context and the Quebec and Canadian sports systems.
  • Good command of various office automation tools (Microsoft Office Suite).

Job information

Duration: Permanent position

Immediate supervisor: Chief Physiotherapist

Work location: Montreal – Olympic Park

Working hours: Full-time (with the possibility of part-time if desired)

Start date: Mid-February 2026

Salary: Annual salary between $60,360 and $85,223 depending on experience. Possibility of counting hours toward FCAMPT and sports physiotherapy mentoring.
