INS QUÉBEC LAUNCHES THE PAUSE PROGRAM PRESENTED BY MONDO CARES TO SUPPORT THE WELL-BEING OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF ATHLETES IN QUÉBEC
The Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) is proud to announce the launch of the PAUSE Program, presented by Mondo cares. This initiative is designed to promote the mental well-being of young athletes across Québec.
Recognizing the many challenges athletes face, INS Québec is committed to providing accessible and tailored resources to support their overall development. Among its key features, the PAUSE Program offers free access to Calm, the world’s leading app for meditation, relaxation, and sleep.
“Offering athletes a tool like the Calm app to help better manage their stress, improve their sleep, and care of their mental health is an essential lever for building sustainable performance and supporting their long-term well-being,” says Heidi Malo, Lead of Performance and Mental Health at INS Québec.
“With Mondo cares, we believe in the power of sport to enhance the community, empower athletes in their journey, and foster a supportive environment around mental health issues, says Latasha Pittman, Branding & Marketing Director North America & Europe of Mondo. The INS Québec PAUSE program fits perfectly with this vision by offering the next generation of athletes resources that will help them integrate essential concepts of mental wellness earlier in their journey to high-performance.”
“Thanks to the PAUSE Program, I’ve incorporated short meditation and breathing routines after my trainings. These moments really help me refocus, manage the stress of competition, and recover more effectively,” says freestyle skier Laurianne Desmarais-Gilbert.
INS Québec emphasizes that while Calm is a valuable tool to promote mental well-being, it is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological support. The PAUSE Program is available now to athletes identified as Relève and Élite by their Québec federation, as well as to eligible coaches. Interested participants are invited to contact their Regional Multisport Training Center (CREM) for more information.
