Martin Fréchette appointed Lead Nutritionnist at INS Québec

MARTIN FRÉCHETTE APPOINTED LEAD NUTRITIONNIST AT INS QUÉBEC
INS Québec is proud to announce the appointment of Martin Fréchette as Lead Nutritionist, effective December 1, 2025.
“My goal is to continue developing an environment where athletes and coaches benefit from integrated, innovative, science-based nutritional support. I am committed to contributing to this mission, where nutrition plays a key role in the performance, health, and well-being of athletes,” said Martin Fréchette.
“Martin’s mandate will be to support the vision and development of the service and to continue to strengthen the offering to athletes and our partners. In his new role, he will continue to contribute to the reputation for excellence of the nutrition sector,” said Roger Archambault, Vice President of Performance Services at INS Québec.
Martin Fréchette holds a master’s degree in nutrition from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal. Since 2022, he has been pursuing a doctorate in physical activity sciences as part of a collaboration between the University of Sherbrooke and INS Québec. He joined INS Québec in 2013 and has worked with several sports, currently focusing on short track speed skating and para-cycling. In 2026, Martin Fréchette will be one of two nutritionists accompanying the Canadian delegation to the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games.
In addition to being a certified nutritionist at INS Québec and the Excellence Sportive Sherbrooke Regional Multisport Training Center, he is also co-instructor of the Nutrition module of the Advanced Studies Diploma in Coaching of the National Coaching Certification Program. Committed to training the next generation, he is a lecturer at the Universities of Sherbrooke and Bishop’s.
His diverse experience led him to serve as director of food services at the 2013 Canada Games in Sherbrooke. From 2017 to 2021, in addition to his duties at the Institute, he also served as a nutrition consultant for the Montreal Canadiens.
