Paralympic Games: INS Québec, a pillar of Canadian performance

PARALYMPIC GAMES : INS QUÉBEC, A PILLAR OF CANADIAN PERFORMANCE
With the Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Games approaching, the Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) would like to salute the commitment and determination of the athletes who will represent Canada on the international stage and reaffirm its key role in their journey toward excellence.
The support offered by INS Québec is part of a long-term vision for performance development. From the next generation to the international elite, the Institute relies on innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and cutting-edge expertise to create environments conducive to success.
“Every journey to the Paralympic Games is based on rigorous, structured, and multidisciplinary work. We are proud to have been able to support Paralympic athletes on their path to excellence and to contribute concretely to their success,” said Marc Desjardins, President and CEO of the INS Québec.
The beneficial approach of the Network
As a member of the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN), INS Québec contributes directly to a highly coordinated national structure. This Network provides athletes with integrated support combining mental performance, strength and conditioning, science, and sports medicine. This synergy optimizes preparation and precisely meets the specific requirements of high-level international competitions.
Forty-nine of the fifty athletes on the Canadian team, or 98% of the contingent, are affiliated with at least one institute of the Network. Twenty-nine athletes (58% of the Canadian team) are affiliated with more than one COPSIN member.
“Paralympic success is based on true teamwork. We work closely with federations, coaches, and other institutes to ensure consistent support tailored to each athlete’s reality. It is this synergy that allows us to build solid paths to major competitions,” says Roger Archambault, Vice-President of Performance Services.
INS Québec wishes the best of success to all the athletes who will proudly wear the Canadian colors.
