Continuity and commitment to meet the challenges of tomorrow – Three new members join the board of directors of INS québec

The Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its board of directors. Confirmed at the recent annual meeting, these appointments strengthen the governance of the organization, who plays a central role in supporting high-performance sport in Québec.
The three new members are Annie Bourgeois, Anick Dubois, and Claude Pinard. They join Valérie Lemieux, Mélanie Marois, and Jean-Philippe Normandeau, who have been reappointed, as well as current members Jean R. Dupré, Michel Laramée, Yann Paquet, Marie Pinsonneault, and Sylvain Proulx.
“It is with great satisfaction that we welcome these exceptional individuals, whose expertise and professional backgrounds will enrich our governance,” said Jean R. Dupré, Chair of the Board of Directors of INS Québec. “I would also like to thank all the members of the Board for their dedication as volunteers. As we face major challenges, particularly in terms of funding and the sustainability of our mission, this diversity of perspectives will enable us to better tackle these challenges.”
Like high-performance sport in the country as a whole, INS Québec is currently operating in a particularly demanding environment. Stagnating public budgets, inflation, and rising operating costs are putting a strain on the sustainability of services provided to athletes. Preserving access to world-class resources and ensuring the sustainability of Québec’s excellence are an increasingly urgent issue.

INS Québec would like to warmly thank three members who have left the Board of Directors. François Racine, who has served since 2014, has completed the maximum term allowed. Nathalie Joncas, after four years of active involvement, has chosen not to seek a new term. Emilie Bundock left her position at the end of 2024 to pursue her career abroad. The Institut expresses its sincere gratitude to them for their contributions, which have helped bring to life the “Ingenuity behind performance.”
