What is a CDEE?

A coach and coaching environment development advisor (CDEE) is a professional who supports coaches in their development, daily experiences, and the challenges they face in sport. Present throughout Quebec, CDEEs are local agents connected to the regional realities of the sporting community.

What do CDEEs do?

CDEEs do not offer NCCP courses or certifications. Instead, they create spaces for exchange and reflection where coaches can discuss, share their needs, and explore new approaches rooted in the realities of the field.

Here are the types of activities offered by CDEEs:

  • Facilitate group exchange and social learning meetings (one-time or recurring) with coaches and specialists from one or more sports to share knowledge and experiences.
  • Offer individual support to coaches.
  • Connect stakeholders from different backgrounds.
  • Contributing to or promoting training events in the region.
  • Supporting clubs in the region in the development of their coaches.

Please note! CDEEs are not the same as CDEs (coach development coordinators). While CDEEs work in a specific region and support coaches from different sports, CDEs work for a sports federation and support coaches in that discipline throughout Quebec. Fortunately, there are areas of collaboration between these two players in the system, which greatly benefits coaches.

How can they help me?

If you are a coach, the CDEE in your region can help you:

  • Take a step back and reflect on your practices.
  • Find solutions to your professional challenges.
  • Exchange ideas with other coaches in your region.
  • Access relevant resources tailored to your needs.

All in an atmosphere of trust, respect, and non-judgment.

Who are the CDEEs?

CDEEs come from a variety of backgrounds: former coaches, sports development specialists, and education professionals. They share a common passion for learning, fieldwork, and supporting coaches. Each CDEE is linked to a regional representative (CREM, URLS, etc.) and works in tandem with other sports development stakeholders. In the list below, you can find out more about all the CDEEs, including the one working in your region! Don’t hesitate to contact them!
