The Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) announces the arrival of Heidi Malo as Lead, Performance and Mental Health, effective February 5.

“We are delighted to welcome Heidi Malo as the Institute’s new Lead of Performance and Mental Health. With over 10 years’ experience in the field, an international career as a ski coach and a solid academic background, Heidi Malo brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Her outstanding work with athletes and para-athletes around the world, including at several Olympic and Paralympic Games, testifies to her commitment to excellence and athlete well-being. We are confident that she will play a key role in advancing our mission and supporting our athletes in achieving their highest goals,” says François Bieuzen, Director of Sport Science at INS Québec.

“It’s a real privilege to join a group of leaders in human performance with whom I share a common vision of supporting athletes in their quest for excellence, while ensuring their physical and psychological well-being. My background allows me to understand not only the complexities, challenges, stressors and triggers, but also the motivations and realities of high-level athletes and the next generation,” says Heidi Malo, INS Québec’s new Lead, Performance and Mental Health.

Heidi holds a Master’s degree in Physical Activity Sciences (M.Hk), and over the past decade has worked as a certified Mental Performance Consultant (MPC) with numerous athletes and para-athletes around the world. Her experience with high-level athletes is diverse, ranging from Grand Prix to World Cups, from US Opens to World Championships, as well as supporting athletes in the last five Olympic cycles. She has also worked with Excellence Sportive Laurentides as Services Coordinator and as High Performance Director (2021-2024).
