 May 4, 2023

ROGER ARCHAMBAULT RETURNS TO INS QUÉBEC AS VICE-PRESIDENT, PERFORMANCE SERVICES

His intimate knowledge of the organization, its network and its partners, combined with his leadership and visionary thinking will ensure continued growth

The next Vice-President, Performance Services of the Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) is already well known both in the Institut’s environment and in the Québec and Canadian sport communities. INS Québec is pleased to announce the returning of Mr. Roger Archambault who served in the same role from 2019 to 2021. He will be responsible for a team of about fifty people regrouped in the medical-sport services, scientific services, performance services and professional development services. He will take up his duties on May 15th.

“We are very pleased to welcome Roger Archambault back to the INS Québec,” said Gaëtan Robitaille, President and CEO of the Institut. “In the short time he has been with us, he has proven to be a major asset in the development of the Institut and his contribution has been both meaningful and structuring. His intimate knowledge of our organization, our network and our partners, combined with his natural leadership and visionary spirit will be key to our continued growth. During his first tenure at INS Québec, Roger was able to take relations with sports partners to a new level. He also reorganized the structure of the Performance Services. These transformations have already paid off, and he will be able to take advantage of them to continue our progress.”

“I am very excited to be back at INS Québec, an influential environment where trends and innovations follow one another at a frenetic pace,” said Roger Archambault. “I look forward to working with the incredible team at the Institut and the front-line players such as the sport federations, regional multi-sport training centres, single sport training centres and our sport partners. Together, we will continue to contribute to the advancement of a high-performance sport system while continuing to create the conditions that will accelerate Québec’s and Canada’s advancement on the world stage. We will do this in a safe, transparent, ethical and fair context for the well-being of athletes, coaches and all stakeholders.”

Prior to joining INS Québec, Roger Archambault was Assistant Director, High Performance with the University of Ottawa’s Excellence Teams and Sports Clubs, a position he held from 2016 to 2019. Previously, he worked at the Canadian Olympic Committee where he was Manager of Olympic Team Services. He has also held a number of high performance and administrative management functions with national sport federations, including 18 years as coach of the national biathlon team. He was also Director of the Service des loisirs, des sports et du développement des communautés for Ville de Gatineau.
