Launching of “INS Québec Committee of Ambassadors”

October 17, 2019

A FIRST FOR QUEBEC: YOUNG BUSINESS PEOPLE PLEDGE THEIR SUPPORT FOR HIGH-PERFORMANCE ATHLETES AS INS QUÉBEC AMBASSADORS

The Institut national du sport du Québec (INS Québec) is delighted to announce the first standing committee of Quebec business people, set up to support an organization working with high-performance sportspeople. Made up of young business people and the first of its kind in the Quebec sports community, the “INS Québec Committee of Ambassadors” currently has seven members from a variety of corporate backgrounds. These Ambassadors are tasked with promoting INS Québec, as well as working with the organization to develop new ideas and revenue generation strategies.

The Committee members are Mr. Peter Moraitis (Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon), Mr. Frédérick Poulin (Normandin Beaudry), Mr. Sacha Vaillancourt (BFL Canada), Chairman of the Committee, Ms. Marie-Pier Bergevin (BMO Financial Group), Mr. Alexandre Bilodeau, CPA (Walter Capital Partners), Mr. Serge Vallières (TACT Intelligence-conseils) and Ms. Marie-Laurence Boivin (KPMG Canada, not pictured). They are supported by Ms. Renée Larouche, Director, Business Partnership Development & Fundraising for INS Québec.

“Although we are business people, first and foremost we are all sports fans,” says Sacha Vaillancourt, Chairman of the INS Québec Committee of Ambassadors. “Working with the Institute gives you an insight into everything happening behind the scenes to help athletes push for that thousandth of a second, extra millimetre or detail that will make all the difference. This organization must no longer be a well-kept secret and our role will be to help spread the word about the INS Québec, which will ultimately help fund its programs, services, projects and activities.” »

“We often hear that there’s a close link between the business world and high-performance sports,” says Tom Quinn, President of the INS Québec Board of Directors. We are really happy to have this support. Beyond the expertise and advice they can offer us, the contribution of these future business champions is a real pat on the back for everyone who helps ensure we can update our mission and be “Dream catalysts—one athlete at a time.” »
